Longing For Silence

I can’t recall ever
Longing for silence
More than in this moment.

So quiet. So quiet,
That a falling feather
Would vibrate my skin
Like a roar.

They say some choose
To depart this space
Because they can’t
Take the pain, but

Maybe they just
Needed silence;
Driven mad by
The lack of nothingness
In which to be.
